Confluence integration

Connect a Confluence space so your Cevanos AI agent can search and read its documentation when answering questions.

API token2 reads, no changes

Overview

Confluence gives your agent two read capabilities: Search the documentation and Read one documentation page.

The connection is limited to the space key you enter. Connecting does not turn on the capabilities automatically.

The journey at a glance

  1. 1Find ConfluenceOpen Integrations, search for Confluence and click Connect.
  2. 2Prepare AtlassianFind the site address and space key; create an API token.
  3. 3Connect in CevanosEnter the four credentials and choose Verify & connect.
  4. 4Choose what it can doEnable Workspace and This agent for the two reads.
  5. 5Check ActionsConfirm the two read actions are switched on.
  6. 6Verify the connectionConfirm Connected, then test a search.

Before you start

You need a Confluence Cloud site, access to the space the agent may read, and permission to manage integrations in Cevanos.

Use a dedicated account

Use a dedicated Atlassian account when possible. Keep API tokens private.

Step 1

Find Confluence

  1. 1Open your agent in Cevanos and select Deployment → Integrations.
  2. 2Search for Confluence, then click Connect on the Available card.
Confluence in the Integrations catalogue: click Connect.

Result

The Connect Confluence wizard opens.

Step 2

Prepare Atlassian

2a. Create an API token

  1. 1Open id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens and select Create API token (not Create API token with scopes for this setup).
  2. 2Enter a recognizable token name, choose an expiry date and click Create.
  3. 3Click Copy and save the token securely. It may not be shown again.
Atlassian Security → API tokens: select Create API token.
Enter a token name and expiration date, then click Create.
Copy the API token. Do not include it in shared documentation.

2b. Find the space key

  1. 1In Confluence, open the space you want. Select its three-dot menu → Space settings → Space details.
  2. 2Copy its Space key (for example `SUPPORT`).
Confluence space menu: select Space settings.
Space details: copy the Space key, not the space name.

2c. Copy the site address

Copy the site host from the browser address, for example `your_account.atlassian.net`. Do not copy the entire `/wiki/spaces/...` URL.

Site address: use only the Atlassian host before /wiki.

Step 3

Connect in Cevanos

Atlassian account email: use this address in the Account email field in Cevanos.
  1. 1On the Connect Confluence wizard, click Get started.
  2. 2Complete the four fields as shown below.
  3. 3Click Verify & connect.
Click Get started.
FieldWhat to enter
Site addressThe host, e.g. `your_account.atlassian.net`
Account emailEmail address of the Atlassian account that created the token
API tokenThe token copied from Atlassian
SpaceThe space key from Space details, e.g. `SUPPORT`
Cevanos connection form: Site address, Account email, API token and Space.
Successful connection. Click Choose what it can do.

Result

Confluence is connected to your workspace. The read actions must still be enabled.

Step 4

Choose what it can do

  1. 1Tick Workspace and This agent for each read capability you want enabled.
  2. 2Click Save capabilities.
Both read capabilities enabled for Workspace and This agent.

Result

The selected read capabilities are available to this agent.

Step 5

Check Actions

  1. 1Open your agent's Actions page and select Confluence under Productivity.
  2. 2Check that Search the documentation and Read one documentation page are on.
Confluence Actions panel: review the two read switches.

Result

The agent can search and read documentation in the configured Confluence space.

Step 6

Verify the connection

Confirm Connected, then test Search the documentation on a page in the selected space. If full-page reading is required, enable Read one documentation page first.

Reference

What Confluence can do

Confluence supplies two actions, both reads.

2 capabilities · 2 reads

Reads2
  • Search the documentation

    confluence.search_pages
  • Read one documentation page

    confluence.read_page

Good to know

Both actions only read documents. They do not create, change or delete Confluence pages.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
Verify & connect failsCheck the host, Atlassian email, token and exact space key.
No pages foundConfirm the account can access the selected space and that pages exist there.
Actions are unavailableEnable both Workspace and This agent, then check the switches in Actions.
The connection stops workingCheck whether the API token has expired or was revoked.

Optional

Disconnect Confluence

Open the connected Confluence integration and click Disconnect Confluence. This stops access for agents using the connection.

Your data stays

Disconnecting does not delete Confluence pages. Revoke the API token in Atlassian separately if needed.
