Overview
Notion lets your agent search internal notes and read individual pages. You can also select Notion pages as knowledge sources.
The integration is read-only: it cannot create, edit or delete Notion content.
The journey at a glance

Before you start
You need access to the Notion workspace containing your approved pages, permission to create a personal access token and a Cevanos role that manages integrations.
Keep the token out of screenshots
Never include a token in screenshots or shared documents.
Step 1
Find Notion
- 1Open your Cevanos agent and go to Deployment → Integrations.
- 2Search for Notion under Productivity and click Connect.
Result
The Connect Notion wizard opens.
Step 2
Create and connect a token
2a. Create a personal access token in Notion
- 1Open the Notion workspace menu at the lower left. Select Settings.
- 2Go to Developer → Personal access tokens → New token.
- 3Enter a descriptive token name and check its expiration date. Keep Notion API enabled; Workers is not needed.
- 4Click Create token, then Copy and close. Store the token securely.
2b. Connect in Cevanos
- 1Return to the Notion connection wizard and click Get started.
- 2Paste the token in Internal integration secret.
- 3Click Verify & connect.
2c. Check the result
A green Connected confirmation means the token was accepted. It does not mean the agent has access to every page or that any read capability is enabled. On reconnect, review any offer to restore old capabilities.
Result
Notion is connected. Restrict page access before enabling customer-facing use.
Step 3
Limit Notion page access
- 1In Notion, open Settings → Connections → Connected.
- 2Find the Cevanos connection (it may appear as CXOps in older Notion accounts) and select Manage.
- 3Select Edit access, choose only approved pages and click Save.
No page restrictions?
If page restrictions are unavailable for the account or connection, use an account with access only to content intended for the agent.
Step 4
Choose what it can do
- 1In Cevanos, open the Notion integration and choose Choose what it can do.
- 2For each required read, tick Workspace and This agent.
- 3Select Save capabilities.
Result
Only selected capabilities become available to the agent.
Step 5
Check the Actions page
- 1Open the agent's Actions page.
- 2Find Notion under Productivity and check the read switches.
There are two read actions and no write actions, so no write approval setting is needed.
Step 6
Use Notion pages as knowledge (optional)
- 1Open Sources → Notion, Drive or Confluence → Notion.
- 2Review Pages to read, and deselect anything that should not become a knowledge source.
- 3Confirm the page selection to add it.
Same approved pages
Pages shown depend on the access granted to the Notion connection. Keep the Sources selection consistent with the approved pages.
Step 7
Verify the connection
Confirm Connected, then ask the agent to search a page that was explicitly shared with the connection. Check that restricted pages are not exposed.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Verify & connect fails | Check the token was copied fully, has not expired, and is from the intended workspace. |
| Connected but no pages found | In Notion, open Connections → Connected → Manage → Edit access. |
| An action cannot run | Enable Workspace and This agent, then check Actions. |
| The card says Needs attention | The token may have expired or been revoked. Create another and reconnect. |
Optional
Disconnect Notion
Open the Notion integration in Cevanos and select Disconnect Notion. This stops access for affected agents.
Your data stays
Disconnecting does not delete Notion pages. Revoke the token separately in Notion if necessary.
Ready to connect Notion?
Open your agent's Integrations and click Connect on the Notion card.
