Customer.io integration

Connect Customer.io to Cevanos so your agent can look up customer messaging preferences and perform approved messaging actions.

App API key4 reads, 3 changes

Overview

Customer.io lets your agent look up a customer's messaging: what was sent, which email topics they receive and which channels they opted out of.

It can also make three changes: stop texts, restart texts and resend a customer's email. Keep these on Wait for approval until your process is validated.

Use an App API key

Use an App API key, not a Tracking API key. Keep secret values out of shared documents.

Open the Cevanos agent, go to Integrations, search for Customer.io and click Connect.

Result

A connected message confirms the credential check. Click Choose what it can do to review agent permissions.

Step 4

Choose capabilities

Tick Workspace and This agent only for the capabilities you want to enable, then Save capabilities.

Cevanos: four reads and three actions that make changes.

Customer identity rules

Most actions require a matched customer. Restarting texts requires a confirmed identity, as the capabilities screen shows.

Step 5

Review actions and approval

Open Actions → Customer.io to confirm the enabled switches. Review the three changes for approval before use. Reads do not require approval.

Cevanos: action panel showing the read actions.

Safe default

Keep the change actions set to Wait for approval until your process is validated.

Step 6

Check the integration status

Back on the Customer.io integration page, confirm Connected. Test connection checks the saved credentials. With an authorized test customer, try a read-only lookup before allowing any messaging change.
